Jim Bailey, a familiar face in local Vauxhall circles has joined Totnes based independent Vauxhall specialists, Harrison’s Garage, at a time when they are celebrating their 95th anniversary.

The family run business, established in 1913, has been looking after generations of customers and their cars in Totnes, Torbay and the South Hams.  The business is still owned and operated by the family of the late Charlie Niles, with Chris Harvey, Operations Director being his great grandson.

With over 25 years experience in the motor trade, mostly spent with a local Vauxhall dealer, Jim has all the experience and knowledge to take up his new position running the workshop at Harrisons.
 
“We were looking for someone with the kind of background that could help us make the most of the facilities we have here,” said Richard Harvey, Managing Director of Harrison’s Garage, “and with Jim’s experience being with a Vauxhall dealer he was the ideal candidate.”

“For his part I think he found the facilities we have here to be equal to that of a main franchise dealer and that our focus on providing a very high level of service was attractive.”

Since moving to their current premises on the Totnes Industrial Estate in 1998 and becoming a Bosch Car Service Centre, Harrison’s are able to offer their high levels of service to owners of any make of car, not just Vauxhalls, without it affecting any warranty.

One of Jim’s first tasks is to set up a Harrison’s Club, where regular customers can benefit from savings and discounts throughout the year.
